Milford On Sea, New Forest National Park

Shorefield is a 5 star rated holiday park set in 100 acres of parkland within walking distance (800metres) of the coast at Milford on Sea on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The beach at Milford has stunning views to the Isle of Wight and the Needles. Situated on the southern edge of the New Forest, this South Coast holiday park is the ideal location to explore this beautiful part of Hampshire. The park has great entertainment for all ages and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Nearby are golf courses, horse riding stables, nature trails, cycle routes and fishing all in beautiful surroundings. Facilities on site include: Indoor and outdoor heated pools, play areas, tennis courts, fitness suite, gym and Reflections Elemis Day Spa, clubhouse, bar and lounge, restaurant and bistro, supermarket. Entertainment programme for adults and children. The park has also been awarded the Gold standard David Bellamy award for conservation.  Club membership to use the pools an gym can be purchased for a small charge (in 2019 this was £40-£53 for a family of four for a week depending on season).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The pebble beach front at Milford on Sea can be reached on foot through the park in 10/15 minutes or by car within 4/5 mins. There is also a woodland walk, with stream, that takes you in to Milford on Sea in about 30 to 40 minutes. Milford has a range of shops, pubs and restaurants grouped around a village green. The views across to the Isle of Wight from Milford are beautiful as are the sunsets on the coast. There are foot ferries that run from Keyhaven which is just along from Milford on Sea and will take you across to The Isle of Wight. From Milford on Sea you can also walk along the shingle bank for a mile to Hurst Castle (English Heritage). From there you can take the ferry back to Keyhaven and walk back in to Milford. This area is great for bird watchers who would also enjoy the walk along the salt pans heading to Lymington. Lymington is only a few miles away and is a pretty town with its Georgian architecture, bustling quay, shops and busy Saturday market.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The nearest sandy beach is at Mudeford, which is approximately 15 minutes by car. At Mudeford you can also go crabbing or catch a ferry across to Hengistbury Head and the beautiful Sandbank beach with its colourful beach huts. Here you can walk or catch the little train along the headland and continue by ferry in to Christchurch. Other nearby coastal areas include Barton on Sea, Highcliffe or Bournemouth. Shorefield provides easy access to the New Forest and an abundance of activities there including walking and cycling.
